Life....

We have been SO busy lately.  Even if we aren't going somewhere everyday, life with an 18 month old keeps us busy :)  This is such a fun age!! He is learning so much SO fast.  I really want to start blogging more often.  I think it would be a great way to keep up with our life.  I am going to try and find time to blog about our days!  I will start with posting about our trip to the Tennessee Aquarium last Friday.

  Justin's grandpa Norman and his girlfriend Gail were here visiting from Virginia last week.  We spent every afternoon and night at his parents house spending time with them.  Friday we went to the Tennessee Aquarium.  We left our house about 7:30. Stacey rode with us.  Landen was very good on the ride there.  It only took about 2 and 1/2 hours.  We watched Handy Manny most the way :)  I had never been to that aquarium so I was looking forward to it.

We took Landen's puppy dog leash instead of his stroller so he could walk around and run off energy! 

He is SUCH a papaw's boy!! He didn't want anything to do with the rest of us.

  He LOVED the penquins! I think they were his favorite (and mine too!). They had these statues to take pictures with. I love this... it looks like he is riding the penquin like a horse!!

  He kept saying WOW everytime we saw something new.  It was SO cute.  He got a stuffed animal penquin as a souvenir.  We spent about 3 hours at the aquarium and on our way home we stopped at Arby's for lunch.  Landen got 2 toys in his kid's meal because the cashier thought he was so cute :).  He slept on the way home to get ready for his night at Granna and Poppy's house. We had tickets to the George Strait, Reba, and LeeAnn Womack concert!! I won them from WZZK the previous Friday.  We were so excited about the concert but it made a VERY long day!  The concert was in Birmingham at 7pm.  

It was the best concert I have ever been to!  (although I have only been to 4 others...). We got home at 1am!!!  It was a very long day, but full of great memories! 

 This was Saturday before Grandpa left.  4 Generations!

 

     Also on Saturday was the Bama game....  ~ROLL TIDE~

 I think it pretty much sums up everything you should do in life :)  It is also on my papaws tombstone.  I just love it!

Day 4-- Favorite Book

Favorite Book-- 

 I have just discovered my love for books! I used to hate reading when I was in school but now I love it!  My most recent favorite book(s) are the Twilight Saga.

I love anything written by Nicholas Sparks or Debbie Macomber also.  I am really wanting to get some Beth Moore books too.

30 Day Blog Journal

 I have been slacking lately on my blogging!  I really want to work on it since it is such a good way to remember our life :)  I decided to do this 30 day blog journal even though I am 3 days behind!

Day 1- Favorite Song--

This is a really hard decision!  I love music!  I think right now my favorite song is Something Beautiful--NeedToBreathe.   I also really like The House That Built Me--Miranda Lambert.  I love lots of other songs but we would be here all day :)

Day 2-- Favorite Movie--

We used to watch movies all the time so I have several favorites.  We still watch them on the weekends after Landen is in bed. 

My favorite two movies are-- 

Dirty Dancing and Grease

I also love The Notebook, The Twilight Saga, Cinderella Story, P.S. I love you, and Father of the Bride I and II.  I could go on all day about movies I love!  That is one of our favorite things to do!

 Day 3--Favorite Television Program--

We love Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, Desperate Housewives

This summer we watched True Beauty, Pretty Little Liars, and I watched Bachlorette!  Justin wasn't crazy about it but he likes the others.   Usually around here our TV has one of these on---

But I wouldn't change a thing!!!  We love these shows now because Landen LOVES them! He gets so excited when they come on :)

Show Us Your Life--Kids Names/Future Kids Names

 I have always thought a lot about baby names. I have always known I wanted to have babies when I got older and I love reading baby name books!  When I got pregnant with our son it took us a few weeks to agree on a name for him. I knew we were using Ray as a middle name for a boy because Ray is Justins middle name, his dads middle name, and my step dads middle name. I LOVE family names! We finally decided on....

LANDEN RAY

 

I love that his name is spelled different than most boys with that name. Hopefully he will not be named the same as ten other boys in his class in school.

For a girl we had...

BROOKLYN LEIGH

I still REALLY like Leigh, but Brooklyn has become very trendy and I know a lot of girls with that name.  I would like to use Leigh as a first name but I can't think of a middle name for it.  I also love ELLA and KATE.  

 We have a while to think of other names, since we are planning on waiting a while for a second baby.  

Random

WOW! It has been a long time since I have posted anything.  We have been SO busy lately and this whole week Landen has been sick.  He started out with an eye infection and now he has a horrible cough and is really ill so we go back to see the dr today. Hopefully he can give him something to help. 

  I can't believe that Landen is almost a year old!!  Time really flies.  He will be 11 months on the 11th and last Tuesday he weighed 23 pounds!! He is learning all kinds of new things.  His favorite thing is clapping.  It is so cute :)  I will post all his new things and more about him on the 11th (when I can do his 11 month post).  This weekend we are making his birthday pictures to use for his invitations.  His party is going to be Elmo and I am making really cute invitations and decorations with the Cricut machine my mom got for Christmas. 
This is my sweet mess maker :)

Show us your life- baby gear!

Ok so I have never done one of the show us your life posts but I thought this one was GREAT!

As a shower gift we got the Graco travel system with the stroller and car seat. I would definitely recommend this! The stroller is SO easy to fold up. Landen is already out of the infant seat but the stroller will be GREAT for a long time and he really loves it.


Our favorite baby carrier is Baby K'tan! It is so great. You can carry the baby 8 ways and until they weigh 42 pounds! We have a brown one just in case we happen to have a girl later :) This is Landen's favorite way to be carried in it now.
We also LOVE our pacifier rinser from babies r us! you mix water with a little bit of mouth wash and it sprays the pacifier or bottle nipple in case you drop it and are not near soap and water :)
We also love the Rainforest Jumperoo! It entertains Landen for a long time!!!
We have the best travel bottle warmer! It's prince lionheart and you can reuse it. You snap a disk inside to warm it and then you boil the pack of crystals until they turn into liquid again :)

We have many other favorite such as..... boppy pillow (necessity for nursing), medela swing pump, tiny diner tray, wipe warmer, summer video monitor, Graco Comfort Sport car seat, aquarium tub, bottle brush, munchkin bottle warmer/pacifier sterlizer, rainforest take along swing, playtex vent air bottles, infantino high chair cover, and carters diaper bag with stroller straps!!!! I love being a mom!

This and That

We have been busy lately. I am cleaning with my mom 3 days a week and the other days we usually spend with Grandma. Grandma has been at the beach this week so we have had to find someone to watch Landen while we clean. He stayed with Aunt Judy, (my Grandmas sister) Tuesday, Mamaw, (my dads mom) Thursday, and Aunt Nancy (my dads sister) Friday. He has had a busy week full of being spoiled!!! Aunt Nancy fed him his first sucker. He had a strawberry dum-dum and LOVED it. (as you can see :) )


We missed Grandma while she was gone all week! She is on her way home today :). Here are a few pictures from Grandparents day a couple weeks ago.



This week we tried Biter Biscuits and Landen LOVES them. He pretty much loves all food but he likes these because he can feed himself. and boy are they MESSY!!!


Well, teething has made Landen fussy. So i will post more later. :)

6 Months :)

I can't believe my sweet baby is 6 months old! He is growing so fast. He has learned a lot of new things this month......

• He sits up great now
• He is trying to "talk" all the time, he makes the cutest sounds I have ever heard
• He eats stage 2 baby food, vegetable and fruit for lunch, and cereal with a fruit at bed time, and the rest of the day he nurses.
• He weighs 18 pounds 10 ounces and is 27 inches long!
• He rides in a bigger car seat now that he LOVES because he can sit up
• He is trying to crawl, but for now he just rolls to get where he wants to go :)
• He says mama (sometimes, mostly when he cries)
• His favorite toy is his elmo and a musical puppy dog
• His favorite food is sweet potatoes and bananas, but he loves just about anything
• He loves his snack-- puffs and juice
• His rainforest jumperoo is the best thing we ever bought , it entertains him for a long time
• He watches Handy Manny and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse every morning, he loves TV

He is a BAMA fan, he watched his first football game at uncle Tims house on the day of his first dove hunt.....


Being a mom is more amazing than I ever imagined. I can't wait to watch him grow up!

5 Months Old :)

SO.... today Landen is 5 months old!!! I can't believe how fast time goes by. It seems like just yesterday we were bringing him home from the hospital!!!

he is growing up so fast!!

~He can sit up now

~He can roll over from his tummy to his back

~He eats 4 tbsp of cereal at night with 1 tbsp of bananas and 4 oz of milk :)

~He is starting to reach for stuff he wants now and I love it!!
~He sleeps from 9 at night until 5:15 in the morning,then he eats and goes back to sleep till 7:30

~He has learned to laugh now as you can see......

~He is so much fun now..... he is learning all kinds of new things and loves his toys

~ He has a new rainforest jumperoo that is his favorite toy at home

My Amazing Family

Hi :)
I've never been a great writer but I have decided I want to share our life with you. I want to start by showing you my amazing family. I have a wonderful husband Justin. We have been married since March 23, 2008. My husband is a warehouse manager and works alot so I can stay home with our son. We have an adorable little boy. His name is Landen Ray and he is my whole world. He was born March 11, 2009. He is almost 5 months old and I can't believe how fast he is growing.



I'm a stay at home mom and I love it! I get to spend my days taking care of our sweet baby boy. We are so blessed that I am able to do that while Justin works. I'm almost 20. I have an amazing church that I have attended my whole life. I also have a huge family and I love it. Thats all for now but ill post again soon :)
